Almost 41% Job description and Job postings are just copied from previous one. Both Recruiter & Manager don’t realise that your JD content can affect Potential candidate’s mind. Your Job Description and posting is a smaller view of job, company and your value too. Now practically, you are selling the Job to a potential candidate and you really have no idea that you are selling it. You must have a selling content in your Job Posting. Let’s Find out how to write an effective job posting.

1 . Know Exactly, what you are trying to sell

Understanding the exact requirement of your manager is most important and first part of any hiring. First take good intake sessions with manager then write exact requirements in generic JD. You need to know about, roles & responsibilities, Qualifications and skills needed for the job. Now summarize it and note down, good points

2. Put sales content

Find about benefits that candidate looks in that specific job category and match them with benefits you are providing. Now, put the heading with desired profile and start putting extra benefits in every line, like in first line write Job Position, in next add like sign-on bonuses (if any) then salary benefits. after that create another section with other benefits heading. write other benefits your organisation provides such as healthcare and medical etc. you can add some company profile links in JD.

3. Search Engine optimized

Write effective content with search engine optimization, it will help you reach more potential candidates and they will be able to find your JD attractive and good enough to apply. Use some words more than one time, Don’t use special symbols and signs. Finish your Jd within 1000 words with clear fonts.

4. Putting it all together

Now combine all the point above and you have one of best JD and job posting. Your Jd should be like, starting with Job profile and extra benefits then a new section with general benefits, then summary, then roles & responsibilities, qualifications sections.
